‘Pieces of Forever’ by Valerie M Bodden Book Review – A Christian Fiction Novel

It was the first rainy day of Spring and after spending the past three days outside, it was time for a day indoors… And luckily, for me, my new books just arrived in the mail. I got myself comfy, and barely left my spot all day. I was done reading Pieces of Forever by the end of the day. It was that good. And to top it off, it was my second time reading it (first was on kindle). It was THAT good.

Pieces of Forever is about a woman (Ava) who lost her identity when she became a victim of a fire. Her whole left side of her body was badly burnt, leaving her with terrible scars, and needing more than one skin graphing surgery. A planned to be model, was now never going to have her dreams come true… After this traumatic accident – that left her not only scarred on the outside, but on the inside as well – she broke up with her boyfriend… Even though they promised each other forever… She believed their forever was now shattered, and she believed that he deserved better than what she was now. He deserved a perfect looking wife, and kids, and future. And she was not that for him anymore.

Eight years later, Joseph (ex boyfriend) comes back to town, after finishing college, to buy and run the local veterinary office. Ava planned to avoid Joseph, preferably forever, but of course God had other plans. Instead of waiting a couple of days to have a fate-filled encounter, it happened the day after he arrived… God can be funny like that… And blunt, too.

This book follows the story of Ava and Joseph as they weave and stumble their way through seeing each other again. Will they realize they should never have broken up? Will they realize they’re “meant to be”? You’ll have to read to find out.

Valerie Bodden does a magnificent job at writing – she truly is a God-given talent. For there aren’t many good – and I mean GOOD – Christian fiction books out there. She’s as good as the most popular fiction authors.

Her writing is smooth, easy to read, and filled with real emotions, thoughts, and actions. It is not your typical cheesy romance book. This one is filled with real life problems and real life concerns.

I loved it. And I’m sure you will too.
