After realizing that we all must learn to rest in the Lord much more than we do, this book came into A. C. McGuire’s heart. She wrote it with conviction, compassion and a hope to ignite your heart to turn to Christ for His rest.
IF you’ve read and enjoyed Amy Carmichael’s book If, then you will surely enjoy this one as well, for it was written in a style that was inspired by Amy.
When my patience is wearing thin…
When my kindness runs out…
When my anger grows stronger than my grace…
When I forget what this life is all about…
I know I must rest in the Lord.
When foul language escapes my lips…
When slandering others becomes easy…
When anger, bitterness and rage enter my heart…
I know I must rest in the Lord.

If you desire holy living with our Lord, then this book is a wonderful read.
This book is written with such a desire to seek holy living with our Lord. It has helped remind me in times of my despair, anger, or bitterness, to take a breather and rest in the Lord before I move forward and potentially sin. I admire the prose and the vulnerability the author was willing to share with her readers.
10/10 recommend.
Convicted With Love And Compassion
If you have ever read the book “If” by Amy Carmichael, you’ll LOVE this book. I can tell A. C. McGuire was inspired by Amy Carmichael because she writes this book in a very similar format.
When I was reading Rest In The Lord, I felt convicted with love and compassion. It helped me realize that I wasn’t alone in my burnt out feelings or in my feelings of anger towards people or towards God. Not feeling alone in my feelings helped me realize that it’s okay to feel that way.. But to always take those feelings to the foot of the cross. Our Lord is always waiting for us to turn to Him so that He may take our burdens from us and give us peace. Our Lord is so good.
If you feel like you need a little push or drive or reminder to GO TO THE FATHER & REST IN HIM, then I definitely, 100% recommend this book to you.
God bless!
