When we hear the phrase bedtime stories for adults, the world thinks of fables that soothe the mind, novels that lull the body to sleep, or fantasies that help us drift away from reality. But I’ve learned something far different on my walk with Jesus: the most powerful bedtime stories are the ones the Lord writes on our hearts when we finally stop running long enough to rest in Him.
The world offers distraction, destruction and pain. But Christ offers redemption, restoration, and peace. And every poem I’ve ever written mirrors this truth.
My three poetry books — Poems & Prayers, Rest In The Lord, and She’s A Flower In A Wasteland — are not lullabies to help us escape life, but rather, lanterns to help us walk through life with the Lord. Because real adults don’t need fairy tales. Real adults need Jesus.
POEMS & PRAYERS
Poems & Prayers is not polished. It’s not curated. It’s not written from a place of having it all figured out — and that’s exactly why it’s precious to me.
It’s a collection of the raw, unfiltered poems I wrote during my first three years of becoming a Christian. Three years that felt like both a battlefield and a honeymoon with the Lord…
When Jesus first pulled me out of the darkness, I was baffled at how free I felt… The pit in my stomach disappeared, the weight on my shoulders dissipated, and the chains that bound me to anxiety, depression and despair were instantly broken. My foggy mind was cleansed; my broken heart was whole again. And all I wanted to do was praise God for it all.
And the best way I knew how, was to take my passion of writing and share the goodness of God’s grace and mercy over my life.
Poems & Prayers is my testimony of beginnings — of learning about Jesus, understanding grace, learning prayer, and understanding God’s love. It’s a book for anyone who has ever stepped into faith with shaking legs but a hopeful heart, trusting that God would carry what they couldn’t.
Some of the poems are simple. Some are messy. Some look like praise and some look like desperation — but all of them trace the same truth: God is good, God is powerful, God loves you no matter what.
REST IN THE LORD
This world teaches us hustle, noise, self-love, self-will, and self-everything. But Jesus teaches us rest.
Real rest. Holy rest. Rest that makes demons flee and anxiety wither and hearts return home.
Rest In The Lord was written from that sacred place — the moment I realized that rest is not weakness but worship. Rest is refusing to let the world’s chaos outrun God’s peace. Rest is choosing the Shepherd over the storm.
It’s the kind of bedtime story adults actually need: Not a tale to distract the heart, but truth to heal it. And truth from a Father who tucks us in with promises the world can’t counterfeit.
SHE’S A FLOWER IN A WASTELAND
I wrote She’s A Flower In A Wasteland during a season when silence felt loud and life felt heavier than usual. Those nights where your heart beats too hard, your mind won’t shut off, and you feel like you’re the only one awake in the universe — that’s where this book was born.
Poems of lament; psalms of worship; prayers crying out in pain and desperation… That’s what this book is filled with. If you’ve ever felt alone in your walk with Christ — honest and true — you are not alone. I’ve felt it too. And this is the book for you.
This book of poetry will become the place where your soul exhales after holding its breath for far too long.
She’s A Flower In A Wasteland is the testimony of a Christian woman’s soul who still loves God, but feels all alone in the wasteland of lost souls… It’s the perfect adult bedtime story for the weary woman who still chooses worship; the wounded woman who still chooses love; the wandering woman Jesus calls daughter long before she feels worthy of the name.
No matter what your life looks like right now, I promise you — GOD PROMISES YOU — that the wasteland doesn’t last forever. No. Heaven is coming and you’ll forever be planted in the Garden of Eden for eternity. Ahhh… Heaven: where your petals will never fade or wither or fall away; where there will be no more tears, no more heartache, no more pain; where only love, joy, and peace with rein.
THE KIND OF BEDTIME STORIES ADULTS TRULY NEED
Here’s the truth the world refuses to admit: Adults don’t need more escape. Adults don’t need more noise. Adults don’t need more stories that drag them deeper into the emptiness they’re already drowning in.
What adults DO need is: redemption and reassurance that the God who sees them in the daylight won’t abandon them in the dark.
That’s why my poetry exists.
It’s to remind you — in the quiet of your room, when everyone else is sleeping, when the weight of the day tries to crush your chest — that Jesus is Lord. He’s the Savior and He’s right there waiting for you to turn to Him; to lay your weary head on His heart; to rest within His everlasting love.
My books are simply lamps pointing back to His light.
IF YOU OPEN THEM, LET JESUS SPEAK
I’ve learned that the most meaningful bedtime stories for adults are not the ones we read to fall asleep but the ones that finally wake our souls up.
If you read these books, read them slowly. Read them prayerfully. Let them sit with you. Let them confront you. Let them comfort you. But above all, let them draw you closer to the One who writes the greatest story of all — the story of how He rescues, restores, redeems, and renews His children every single day.
Because no matter how the world spins its tales, God’s story is the most important one of all.
If these seem like the kind of bedtime stories for adults that you’re looking for, then look no further and order your copies today.
