Bless my mama’s heart. She is very supportive of my writing endeavors. She’s always sharing my new books with everyone she can. But when it comes time for her to explain the books to people, she doesn’t always get the stories right.
Which is why I say bless her heart.
Because although she supports me in that way, she has never read one of my books.
So when she told me that she was telling someone about my children’s books, and she explained my one book, Elliot the Elephant, I had to correct her. She explained the story wrong.
You see, my mama isn’t a Christian, so she has yet to understand the grace of God. So when she said that in the book Elliot gets his hearing back… I had to tell her that he, in fact, does NOT get his hearing back.
The look on her face was complete confusion.
“The whole point of the book is that Elliot doesn’t get his hearing back.” I said, “That God’s grace is sufficient enough. That now Elliot can hear God’s voice over the world’s noise.”
“Whatever. Anyways…” And she continued on saying that the guy she was talking to wanted to buy a copy or whatever.
I have to admit that I was a little hurt at her dismissing the PLOT of my book. But in reality, I understand that she isn’t a Christian, and she won’t understand the story until the grace of God blesses her heart. To which I pray, that He does sooner rather than later.
And so, with that being said, here is a link to order a copy of Elliot the Elephant: the elephant who loses his hearing and while you think he should get his hearing back, God does NOT grant him his prayers, but instead says, “My grace is sufficient enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

If you think this may be a book you’d like to share with your kids, you can order it here. 🙂
P.S. It has a “colour it yourself” version at the back!
