When Jesus first pulled me out of the darkness, I was baffled at how free I felt… The pit in my stomach disappeared, the weight on my shoulders dissipated, and the chains that bound me to anxiety, depression and despair were instantly broken. My foggy mind was cleansed, my broken heart was whole again, and all I wanted to do was praise God for it all! And the best way I knew how, was to take my passion of writing and share the goodness of God’s grace and mercy over my life.

Poems & Prayers is my testimony of beginnings — of learning about Jesus, understanding grace, learning prayer, and understanding God’s love. It’s a book for anyone who has ever stepped into faith with shaking legs but a hopeful heart, trusting that God will carry what they can’t.

Some of the poems are simple. Some are messy. Some look like praise and some look like desperation — but all of them trace the same truth: God is good, God is powerful, God loves you no matter what.
