Renew Your Mind Sneak Peak
As Christians, we’re called to surrender our lives to Christ, allowing Him to transform us into His image all for His glory. The problem is that we’re humans who fail over and over again; we allow our ways or the ways of the world to overcome the ways of Christ. Which is why I wrote this book.
Inspired by Romans 12:2, I drafted this book with 12 chapters based on the 2 “powers” of this world – God vs. Satan. Now of course we know God is powerful over all, but we also know that Satan is the prince of this world and he does a good job at deceiving us into following his ways. And so, this book brings light to his devious and wicked ways and helps us to see both sides of the coin…
I touch on subjects like trust vs. doubt, chastity vs. promiscuity, worshipping God vs. worshipping idols, and more.
I think the person who came up with the quote “sticks and stone may break my bones but words will never hurt me” was an emotional manipulator who told this to his victims so they would accept his perverse tongue… And somehow it became a common saying of society; for parents to teach their kids.
But why? Why are we teaching our kids that words mean nothing, when the BIBLE says quite the opposite?
Ah, yes, because it’s a classic way of the world and Satan’s plan to teach people to sin and turn them against God…
It’s mind-blowing to think that society is being trained to believe that revenge is normal and OKAY… When it’s NOT. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
So why would the world want us to think revenge is okay? Oh right, because it’s ruled by Satan. And Satan wants us to stay angry; stay bitter, and sin by seeking revenge.
But, you see, retaliation in the face of anger can make you look like a fool; feel like a fool; cause guilt and shame to rise afterwards; and still not stop you from being angry, resentful or bitter. There is no real happy ending.
On the other side, if you don’t avenge yourself, then what? You have to sit back and do nothing? Well, no. You don’t have to DO NOTHING…
I have come to realize that the opposite of prayer is complaining. Whenever we SHOULD be prayer, we’re usually complaining, whether it be to ourselves or with others. It’s a way of this world and a way that helps Satan into our lives.
Whenever we live with complaint on our tongues, rather than prayer, we’re allowing the world – and devil – to win the war against us. We’re also allowing our self-control to slip away and become weaker. When we choose to complain about our problems more than prayer about our problems, eventually when we do decide “Hey, maybe I should pray about this…” The devil has a…
A big wave crashes down
And smothers you under the water
Had you only faith like Jesus
You would have been walking on the waves
But doubt crept in
And made you falter
Who can you trust
If you can’t even trust the One who saves?
Why Is Worshipping Celebrities Bad?
The power of stardom is strong. It can overcome you like a tidal wave, sweeping you under the red carpet, making you wish you were — or knew — the celebrities you worship.
Growing up, my idol was Avril Lavigne. From her attitude, to her pink hair, to the way she dressed, I honestly worshipped her. I dyed my hair like her. I dressed like her. I knew every word to every one of her songs. (add in the picture of me and Avril side by side?)
My idolization of her definitely led me into Satan’s hands. He had me wrapped around his finger like a pitiful fool. I was full of false confidence on the outside and rotting with anxiety and depression on the inside. Her music fed my developing mind with sinful thoughts and desires, and my idolatry of her created an identity crisis within me that led me into all other forms of idolatry and deception…
5 Teachings of Self-Control From Jesus
Jesus lived to serve and to glorify His Father. He resisted all temptations, living a holy and sinless life. His self-control was the strongest of all humans because of His desire to please and glorify His Father rather than Himself. And we must do the same. So He teaches us that self-control is
1.knowing the word of God
2.love of the Lord
3.obedience to the Lord
4.humility
5.and living a prayerful life…
The world – and the devil – thrive on failed marriages. The world doesn’t like marriage because marriage is a holy contract between the 2 in love and Jesus Christ.
Marriage is a blessing to those who are bonded under our loving Father. Thus, the world tries to destroy it; because it hates the power that is emitted from 2 people bonded within Christ.
And so, the world tries to get us to become adulterers and it tries to get us to believe that divorce is okay..
God knows the detrimental effects being sexually immoral can have on a person. Which is why He commands us to practice chastity before marriage (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). And everything that God commands of us is for our own good.
He knows that our human desires get us into trouble and He knows that Satan is out there wanting to take us away from our Father’s loving arms. He knows that our souls are in battle and so, we must learn how to live holy and honourable lives.
The beauty of chastity is in knowing that you will be sharing the most intimate parts of yourself with only one person… As well as many other things, like…
