Bed Time Stories For Kids Ages 0-5

Bed Time Stories For The Win

We all know how tough it can be to get our kids to settle down for bed. That’s why we enlist the help of bed time stories! They create a comfy, creative, and magical time for kids right before they doze off for the night. Here are my nieces’ top favourite bed time stories:

  1. Elliot the Elephant

The number one favourite of all bed time stories for my nieces. They LOVE Elliot. He has big giant ears, yet somehow goes deaf! How absurd. But the girls love it. This kids story is short, but heavier in the Christian theme. Elliot prays for his hearing back, but instead of the miracle you expect, God tells Elliot that “God’s grace is sufficient enough.” (Based on 2 Corinthians 12:9) I believe it’s a great way to introduce the idea that we don’t always get what we want AND that God will always use what we think is bad, for His benefit. Elliot can’t hear the world? No problem. Now he can’t be distracted by the noise of the world. NOW he is able to hear God’s voice above all at all times! Yahoo! What a wonderful Christian bed time story for kids.

  1. Princess Sophia Loves To Pray

A princess bed time story? Yes please! Princess Sophia is a simple, sweet, and easy read bed time story for your little ones. It’s short, so you can read it slowly and allow your children to admire the images more than anything. Picking out little details while they enjoy the story. This is a great story to engage your children in the act of prayer as well! What a great way to introduce Christian ideals at such a young age.

  1. Jerome The Gnome Finds His Forever Home

Whether it’s Christmas time or not, my kids absolutely adore this bed time story. Jerome the Gnome makes my nieces laugh every time. He’s cute, funny, and his adventure to find his forever home is entertaining and informative of the Christian ways one should follow (which is always a bonus for kids books!)

  1. Ms. Elves’ Christmas Present Surprise

Same as above — whether it’s Christmas time or not! — my nieces just love Ms. Elves. She is sofisticated, kind, and merry! They love the illustrations of this bed time story as well as the reveal of the surprise present (spoiler: it’s a book about Ms. Elves!)

  1. Flora The Flamingo Celebrates Valentine’s Day
  1. Laura The Llama Celebrates Valentine’s Day On The Farm

For the month of February, my nieces only read valentine’s day books and these 2 are their favourites. Flamingos and llamas: what’s not to love?!

Flora the flamingo is a good example of expressing why we love our family and friends, and then telling them in a special card for the holiday!

Laura the llama expresses her love through an act of service: to which she gives all of her farm friends stylish new hairdo’s! My nieces laugh every time. The hairdos are hilarious. Definitely a top favourite in the list of bed time stories for them!
