This movie was very well done. The acting, the production, and the story line were all beautifully done. Of course, I expect nothing less from a Hollywood production. However, it is still suffice to say that some movies aren’t that great these days…
This movie was about two people who both of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and are not allowed to be near each other, or their symptoms will get worse and they could possibly end up dead… But of course, the two of them fall in love and find a way to “cheat” the rules.
It’s a story about what one would do for love. It’s a story about trying to survive and realizing that they’re missing out on life. It’s a story about hard decisions and consequences.
There were a couple scenes in this movie where the characters concerned themselves with life and death and what happens when they die. But it was kind of brushes over and never went more than skin deep. The subtle signage and posters in the girl’s room gave way to a New Age thinking, in that there really is no hope for such a person… Because one who claims to believe in the New Age can’t confidently know what will happen to them after they die, because the philosophy is so elusive and confusing. Thus, you see that in her actions: “I’m going to live my life, because it’s the only thing I’m sure of.”
Again, I said, this type of philosophy about death is so sad. You can see the hopelessness in one’s faces and one’s actions when they believe such a thing. You can see the fear consuming them about dying. You can see the lack of control killing them slowly…
As a Christian, seeing this side of people was so painful to watch. While it was a great movie and the love story was written beautifully, I obviously didn’t agree with the hidden agenda of normalizing the New Age ideology. It’s just sad and heartbreaking, and I pray all the time that people see through the lies of it.
Jesus brings hope. He brings a future. He brings peace and love and confidence in this life AND THE LIFE AFTER. Do not be fooled by any other ideology, for none other brings hope and peace like Jesus does. And it’s not a false hope either. It’s literally a hope that fills you – for it comes from the Holy Spirit which Jesus has sent down to be with us. He is so good to us.
