Bible verse John 16:14 KJV

The Holy Spirit That Raised Jesus From The Dead Lives In You

When Jesus went up to Heaven, He told His disciples that He was sending His Holy Spirit to them.

The same Spirit that raised people from the dead, that healed the sick, that made blind men see again, and cast out demons.

The same Spirit that we will receive when we repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes. You read that right. The same Spirit that Jesus Christ had, is the same Spirit that you can have, should you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Is that not, alone, the most miraculous thing you have ever heard? That you, too, can be like Jesus?

No, this does not mean that you are your own god. It does not mean that you are Jesus Christ. It does not mean any of those blasphemous claims. What this means is that the Holy Spirit you receive will help you to be more like Jesus: more loving, more compassionate, more merciful, more gracious, etc. This Holy Spirit will help you to gain all of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.”

Galatians 5:22

For some reason though, so many “Christians” deny and ignore the Holy Spirit’s power. No wonder so many people are atheists – and aren’t even interested in the least to become a Christian.

The Holy Spirit is so overwhelming, yet welcoming, astounding yet peaceful, it’s kind and gentle and loving and joyful; it’s powerful.

It’s so powerful that it makes you change, the second you receive it. It opens your heart, renews your mind, and completely transforms you into a new person. That’s why it’s called “born again.” For you died with Christ when He was crucified, and by the power of the Holy Spirit you have been raised again into the new life of a God-fearing child.

As a Christian, we must ask ourselves:

Are we living the whole truth of the gospel?

Are we living to glorify God?

Are we doing a good job at exemplifying the power of the Holy Spirit?

As Christians, we are called to live out the gospel; live out the power and the fruits that the Holy Spirit gives us. If we aren’t glorifying God in the ways that we act and speak, then we are just causing more people to turn from Jesus. For if they look at us and see the world, then to them, Jesus does not exist…

But if people look at us and see Jesus, then we have done our job as faithful servants, and hopefully turn more people towards the Saviour of the world.

Jesus says about the Holy Spirit, “He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

John 16:14 KJV

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

Luke 11:13 KJV
